I am curious about acceptable heat range for room/chamber. 24-35 C (75-85F) is OK? (that's about 75-85F)
Also, running two 400's at about 34-35 cM (11-12 in.) from Bulbs...too close?
And a final newbie thing... pH's at 8 coming from tap... is adding bacon soda advisable? Or Lye? Pool pH test is Way pinky! Assist Pls.

Yeah, that temp is fine.
Lamps are a little close, if too close, your plants will tell you.
Adjust your pH down with an acid, like phosphoric. Best soil pH is 6.3

Ouch. That sounds overly warm to me, as 35C actually equals 95F not 85. I believe that's the absolute highest temperature you'd want to go, but only if using C02.

Also, that's a very large difference in temperature, so you'll likely have major condensation issues.

The safe range to aim for is 21C to 27C. See Mogie's post here.
