temp problems

my stealth grow drops to 66.5 c when the light is off . is that too cold.

Nope - It's just fine.

Though I assume you really mean 66.5 F - 66.5 c would be a bit toasty...

Yeah, 66 is fine for lights off temps.

and when on i dont exceed 82 F. that should be fine. I have a 600 w digital futre brie ballast. how far away? I have it about 11 inches away from two plants.

I've never heard of that brand of HID lighting before, but hey, the further you can keep your ballast away from your grow room the better. There is a lot of excess heat that builds up with those things. As far as your bulb goes, I'd keep a 600w hps around 24" away from the tops of the plants, but it depends on how well ventilated your room is. But if you have your bulbs air cooled, then I'd say you could really bring the lights close to the tops.

put your hands near the tops of the plants, if its too hot on your hand, then it's too hot for your plants.

If you see the tops turn bright green then yellow you are cooking them and need to move the lights up. Otherwise the closer the lights, the more lumens the plants get.

Digital ballasts run a lot cooler as far as i know anyway.
