Telling Sex By Smell

This technique is not for amateurs!
How can you tell if you have a male or female while in veg?
You first need to have at least two plants of the same strain. Both plants need to be about 2 feet tall for the scent to be strong enough. Some strains work even earlier.

The Steps;
1. place your finger around the main stem of the plant
2. rub it up and down to get the scent on your hand
3. smell it!

what's the difference? a male plant will have a more aggressive smell, while a female has a much gentler, prettier smell if you will. You need the two plants in order to have something to compare against. Once your familiar with the strains smell. you can judge a male or female before it even shows any noticable signs of sex.

Allow me to be more clear about this post, first I should have titled it "judging sex by smell"
I did not start this post to argue with damn kids, it is to inform all the intelligent growers out there that are interested. It does work and the proof is in ALL plants not just weed.
I don't care what opinion you kids have...

It funny that you mention this. I have noticed lately that 2 out of my 3 plants have a much stronger smell. I was wondering if that was possibly a sign of sex. I will have to see what they turn out to be to test this out.

I'm not sure, I tried it with my cheese babies... I have 4 fem's and 3 males... The males at first sniff don't smell the fem's reek, then if I scratch the stems, they all reek (none softer then other...) damn smell is stuck to my nose now.... I dunno maybe the Cheese is too stinky to do this test with.

People please!
This procedure is to give you heads up with sexes you have.
I'm not saying your should be pulling plants based on this unless you've really trained yourself!
me for example I have pretty much mastered the scent of Northern lights #5, I can tell a female or male way before any signs.

I had two plants...one of them had the skunk smell and outgrew the other from early on....the other was almost odorless and shorter....The skunk turned out to be male and the odorless one was female and is just starting to smell like bud....1 week into 12/12....Hmmmm

some strains r harder to determine early on. u have wait until they mature, but it varies from strain to strain. like ultranyte said "this is not for amateurs. You need to be aware of what your looking for. As the above states, those are the results you get when you don't know what your doing."
