Tell me if I should buy this light

So my buddy gave me his used ballast, hood and bulb. It waas used on one and a half grow cycles, but of course 2 weeks into MY first cycle , it burned out. That bulb is for a high pressure sodium ballast only I hope you know
it is a nice bulb though to use for veg if you are only using the one 600 watt HPS ballast for the whole grow

I am aware of the Ballast specs... So I could veg with this and it would be quite proper eh? What bulb should I snag for fruiting? thanks man!

That bulb will work great for veg! Then switch to a 600watt hps for flowering.

I agree! I use the 1000watt hps but the same brand and its great!

If you can only afford the cheapest conversion bulb and on ebay why then would you want one of the very most expensive HPS bulbs there is? All you need is any 600w hps for the whole thing veg AND flower if money really is tight like I'm guessing it actually must be. And I do mean ANY HPS bulb generic is just fine.

Yes you can veg just fine with an hps, many do. Especially when money is tight that's the smart thing to do the difference isn't night and day, you're not getting rich off your grow right just trying to grow a plentiful amount of good meds at a decent price?
