Tax Pot to pay for healthecare?

but they know there is no way to tax weed. a handful of seeds can become a hundred pounds, moving quietly through the black market that already exists. ever increasing sin taxes on alcohol and tobacco have fueled a series of feel-good, do-nothing social programs, but those are labor and technology intensive products. a bit of dirt and some water are all that is needed to grow a passable crop, as our tax hungry representatives know perfectly well. how does one go about taxing a plant that is so easily grown and so effective in such small amounts? a couple of plants in a secluded corner of the garden can supply a light smoker for a substantial amount of time, with little chance of detection and only the slightest amount of care.

i hate to burst your bubble, but what revenue government may realize from such taxation will never outweigh their desires for control. only extreme desperation could make them trade power for something so pedestrian as a few paltry million dollars.

Not to mention I would like to choose what health care program I participate in. As much as I love weed, I owuld rather have private insurance and continue to grow in my basement.

what do i think? i think it will drastically reduce the quality of weed available and significantly increase the price. then they will more than likely crack down on home growers for tax evasion. and probably whole bunch of other unintended negative consequences that skip my mind right now. thats what i think.

Home growers wont have problems as long as it's for personal use.

Legal pot / freedom to own your body = yes. Forced healthcare / more gov't control = no

forced taxation = no

if this were baseball one out of three or a .333 average isn't bad. But you know what? It isn't baseball is it?

Well, uh, Hello. I'm not an idiot, but I can see you feel strongly about healthcare reform and it's "benefits".

What do you say that those who don't want it or need it should not be required to participate? Or are you in favor of being forced to purchase or subsidize something you don't want? That's not good is it?

Um, last time I checked it would be forced health care.
You will have the choice to get government run healthcare,
or government mandated private healthcare.
Failing to purchase or mooch healthcare will result in fines and possible jail time.
That is extotion in my book.

Of course no one knows what is in the actual bill.
Because they never want to release it and even when they do
hundreds of pages are missing.

BTW we are gonna mandate everyone be covered?
What about the Amish?
They don't believe in insurance.
You gonna fine them?
You gonna tax them?
Maybe throw them in jail for non-compliance?
If not, why do they get special privledges?

How about we let people take care of themselves.
And stop trying to all live at the expence of others.

The federal budget has increased 40x since the 1930's adjusting for inflation. Don't you realize that the government only needs a little more money to fix everything?

Why should anyone, private person or group of persons (government) be allowed to make decisions about another persons healthcare / insurance needs or wants? How is that consistent with freedom?

Aren't there "penalties" for not having health insurance ? What will happen if someone says no and doesn't pay?
Is thatconsistent with freedom?

Forcing a person to buy protection that they don't want, what's that called again ? In my cousins neighborhood they do that too, know wut I mean paisano? Why accept legal extortion?

What's "stupid" is insisting that "we" need anything. A person that deems to speak for others when the others don't
wish to be spoken for is what kind of person?

Taxing pot to pay for healthcare involves an unnecessarily obese middleman, government. This middleman can't balance the checkbook even when he's given a gun to rob his constituents and you want to give him MORE money? Fuck that.

Tax pot? No way. Just free the weed and keep the heavy hand of government off of it. Its ours, not theirs.
