Tap water and bubbleponics....

Hey all,

I've searched and read through old posts and have read that reverse osmosis, filtered water, anything with 0ppm is going to be best for use as a nute solution. However, I was curious if I couldn't just use tap water or if that is really a bad idea?

I tested the ph its at around 6.7 and the tds is at around 500ppm. :? which im guessing isn't very good. is this water still useable?

Any help is greatly appreciated! thanks!:peace:

I used tap water in my grow, I just left it out for a day to get rid of some of the chlorine, but my tap wat had a ph of 6 and 120ppm. 500ppm is very high, you might want to look into an RO system.

I was having PH problems with a small res(2 gallon) and large light(400 watt). I had to adjust the Ph every day and the girls didn't like it. I built my own 16 gallons system and very rarely need to adjust the PH any more.

From what I have read, using RO water, or using distilled water seems to be the best, but people have done grows successfully with tap water that is PH adjusted. I don't know about your PPM though.

dang. im trying to save money on not using RO or distilled. I guess i could always mix the tap with "clean" water and just adjust ph?

(thanks for replying everyone)
