Taking Main-Line Clones

I am currently mainlining my new crop, a training method made popular on RUI by Nugbuckets ( https://www.rollitup.org/subcools-old-school-organics/542308-main-lining-thread.html ).

My camera died so i cant update my journal or give you a picture however I can use a pic from the main Thread because the picture looks exactly like my plant.

In the thread he uses those 2 fans for a clone. How would i go about doing that? most clones ive seen seem to be larger cuttings w/ a shoot.

I plan on creating a DIY ez cloner this week and i will be taking these cuttings soon, but first I want to make sure I understand.

I am new to cloning but i grasp the GENERAL concept/lingo from growing and surfing RUI day n night.

Any help appreciated! strains are WW and BlackJack. Maybe not the best strains for this method but Nug makes me feel as though it is all viable with proper care.

you cant clone from a fan leaf if thats what your talking about lol either way i dont see any point in doing this

thats what i thought.... and was having a hard time wrapping my head around. guess ill ask on the thread then

yeah you kinda gotta bare with me here, cloning is a new world

I didn't even know that thread existed i see I'm not the only one,but anyway the concept is simple from every point where a fan leaf is located potential new growth can form,i actually had 6 flowering unrooted clones about 4 inches each that i used the method on and in my case it made a few root faster.
And in addition to that i may be able to eliminate a reveg period.

so... the node where the fan leave occurs also creates a point of clonable new growth? so im looking for something from these nodes other than the fan leaf? cause the plants i have - have the node in which fan leaf is on node and off the same node there is NEW growth. is that the clonable part?

Thanks!

any point in mainlining? read the thread its the bomb diggity!
yeah im looking it over i mean if its something you would like to try then by all means do it i would love to see the results im just saying there is other forms of training i would rather do

nahhh now that i understand the training "enough" i believe in it. i am not a botany major by any means but i believe its call the vascular cambium surface area - Through making a hub system and increasing the intake of nutrients? What really appeals to me in addition to that is the organization and the space conservation, not to mention an EVEN canopy and good ventilation! I will really grasp it through hands on experience but ive LST'd and supercropped but i really think im down with the bondage on my babies. HST lol

Budologist420 did his whole outdoor grow

What you may not notice is the small tiny new growth on the stem and the nodes of the leaves, after a few weeks of growing after being rooted this plant will look similar to yours, but it wouldn't be worth it to clone from it without a good amount of time growing. If this plant was part of a attempt to save genetics then i would clone it several times over.I'll show pics in a few weeks of the growth of some of the rooted ones.Remember branches make branches that make branches and so on,so any plant can be cloned no matter the method.Your plant needs some time. :-)

THANKS! i guess i just saw people taking really early clones and assumed it was alright. THANKS AGAIN!

in addition other training options are awesome and have proven to be effective. im looking for the next big successful thing though.

Nugs is knocking it out of the park,And the ones that haven't heard of it must not do much reading of the forums!/////////i have read your question a few times and still don't see what it is your trying to do accomplish?nugs doesn't do anything different when it comes to cloning he just starts training them as soon as they root. For those of you that don't know what mainlining is this is a pic of one i have running currently now at 32 heads and 2nd week of flowering.100_3476.jpg

HAHA! knew id get some good support here. disregard my question, i figured it out now. he was taking early clones and i was trying to figure out where he was taking them. so much information in one spot - sometimes i get lost! awesome job btw very clean

beautiful canopy, esp on that first one!

i say pop a bag seed and try it and see if you like it. the worst that could happen is you waste a few dollars in medium and some water. people who have done it - swear by it. new and experienced growers together.

My next grow which i will be starting soon.Og kush indoors to compare to the outdoor, the only difference i let the outdoor grow natural but the indoor plant will be topped, lst, lollipopped and vegged for about 2 months.

I want to germ the seed today, but i still got 8 other plants that will be done in 2-4 weeks. But i think I'm gonna do it anyway, the seeds came from the outdoor plant also so they are only about 27 days old.I want to wait a whole month for fresh seeds to dry but a few days shaved shouldn't hurt.
