Taking a sun bath

Heres another question, Id like some opinions. My plants (6) are about 14 days old. Right now they each have 4 leaf sets on them. Im growing in a hydroponic drip set-up. Im using 1-200w and 6-42w cfl's. All plants are growing well. Ok now for the question. Today it a beautiful SUNNY breezy day, do you think there will be any problem with taking my plants outside to bath in the BRIGHT sunlight. Of course they will go back under the lights before the sun goes away. I figure about 8 hours of sunlight has got to be better than my cfls. I know just get a 1000w bulb. Too many reasons why I dont, plus I had the cfls from a gro I tryed last year. Ok so what do you think about the sun??

hell ya dude if nothing else they are getting natural light for a bit. it would be rough on them if it was messing with their light cycle. i would just say make sure that if they are in cups that the leaves are peeking over the rim just to make sure that as the sun moves the plants are getting all the light they were getting from your cfls. im curious to see the growth they get. i would imagine it being exponential. good luck

i would just leave them be.....unless you plan on making this a regular thing.....plants dont do well with extreme change in eviroment....especially at such a young age....if it were me and i had a spot to put them outdoors...i would keep them outdoors....

I've grown in my backyard before. The plants came out very nice. The reason I've gone indoors is, I control the seasons. It just took too long outside. One of reasons I've asked this question is because I had concerns about the changes in light intensity. Or any other problems or benefits.

if you are trying to grow them indoors keep them indoors......especially if they are in a hydro system.....to much trouble and stress on the plants with no benefit.....one day in the sun isnt going to make or break your harvest.....
