taking 2 clones from one branch

Has anybody taken two clones from one branch before and had success?

I don't mean taking multiple clones from side shoots coming of a main branch. What I mean is, taking a clone from the top of a shoot and then going down a few nodes and taking another clone from the same shoot. I will post a picture to help illustrate where the cuts would be made. The top clone in the photo would obviously be a couple nodes taller but it's the only branch I could get a decent shot of to to show as an example.

If it does work the only downside I can think of is that the clone you would be starting out with would essentially be starting out topped and would result in an overall bushier plant in the end.

I have some mother plants right now. I can get about 100 clones off of each mother every week. If it's possible to take another cutting under the site of the previous cutting in the same sitting I would possibly be able to get and extra 500-1000 clones from my mother plants each month.

I could do an experiment but rather than wait 8-14 days (depending on the strain) I thought I would see if anybody on here has done this and can chime in on my question. I also don't want to waste time taking an extra 100 clones, using an extra 100 rockwool cubes, 2 extra trays and domes, and take up the space if it's not going to work in the first place.
