I have a restricted space, 1' x 4', that made me decide on a 4' - 4 bulb fixture. It is rated at 20,000 lumens. How many lumens is that p/ square ft.? Also, I have one fixture above the plants and one fixture mounted to the wall so that i would have the second 20,000 lumen source that would be directed at the under growth. I know that doesn't equal 40,000 lumens but I was wondering if this is an efficient way to go seeing as the issue of heat prevents using an HID.
Also I have heard 2"-5" from the tops, which is best? Is the grow time longer?
The last question is that for veg. I am using all blue bulbs and have red bulbs for flowering. when i first switch the light cycle should I use half blue and half red for a bit then switch too all red for the end?
