Switching to sun for flowering

when the plant goes through its flowering or budding stages(im a first time grower forgive my lack of terminology) people try to get it as many watts as possible right?

well instead of running my electric bill through the roof and attracting any attention should my house be being watched, how well does it work if i manage to find a safe spot for the sun to reach them while they are flowering. also how does the sun compare to plant lighting in terms of say how many watts in lightbulbs could be compared to what the sun gives the plants.

if u could find a spot were u get 12 hrs of direct light, then go for it... u'll get way better results then any light bulb. but it depending on ur plant it might take a lil adjusting to the light

If you stick that plant in direct sunliight w/o hardening it off a bit, I strongly suspect it will suffer environmental shock (wilt). Best give it a little bit o' sunshine at a time until it's used to it. The plant doesn't need 12 hours of direct sunlight, just bright sunlight. If it's already been outside plenty, go for it. It takes 7-10 days to harden off most plants. Any gardening book will explain why it's necessary.
Are you planning on hauling it in and out of your dark space?
