Switching from Veg to Flower Fox farm nute question

Hello all, Im currently on my first grow as I have posted many times on rollitup to get me through some of the obstacles I have faced. So far My grow is steady and solid. Im tired of vegging this bad girls and now im ready to flower em. They a month into veg and I am using a tent setup with a 2x2 ebb and flow system with fox farm nutes. Just put up my 600w hps system.

The big question is for the first 2 weeks of my nute cyclenute cycles. Fox farm schedule shows to leave out Grow Big for the first 2 weeks. Last time I followed this schedule and left out big bloom for a week my leafs started showing irregularities like discoloration etc... so im kinda scared to follow this schedule unless somebody with experience says its okay its not going to harm my plants to leave out the grow big portion of the formula for the first 2 weeks and introduce the plants to tiger bloom with the Big Bloom nute as well.

Just took pics below because I know how boring it is to read these threads with nothing to show ^.^ The HPS is on right now but I havent put them on a 12/12 cycle yet. Tonight is my first night ^.^ so hopefully I get some quick responses so I can start watering these girls.

O yeah.. will a crop like this produce big colas or pop corn buds cause im going for yield and being as how this is my first grow, I wasnt sure how to prune them in order to get them to yield high. I cut off like the first 4 to 6 bottom branches for airflow and toped them about a week and a half ago. I also trim the big fans covering bud sites when possible but obviously I dont do it to excess.

I am getting ready for my first grow and plan on using FoxFarm nutes for a soil grow. I hope this thread gets some answers so I can figure out what the hell I am doing. :P

dont hold your breathe lol.. evidently its a dumb question haha.. The hydro schedule differs greatly frow soil anyways. I cant water my plants though until I know if I should ignore the fox farm schedule for week 1 and 2 of flowering.. I dont get why it wants me to leave out grow big.. I know theres essential nutes in that formula for growth.

Well, I can tell ya by following the directions and not using the grow big in the first two weeks of flower certainly has not done my hydro grows any harm. Actually I use about half strength of all their nutrients except week 6.

I just switched from veg to flower and im using foxfarms trio of nutes. flowering starts on week 5 of their schedule. did u do a rez change? do u use bushdoctor?

Really? thats the answer I was looking for lol.. but why do you only use half strength through your entire grow?

I've used Fox Farms for awhile now.... It's not Big Bloom you want to skip the first 2-3 weeks, it's grow big, and the reason is to slightly lower the nitrogen and start upping the P.... The plant will need a nitrogen boost in week 3-4 of flower, as shown on the schedule. Being that you are using hydro, I'd use ppm as a guide as opposed to a chart, but if you are new to growing, take it slow.. better to have a smaller crop than no crop at all. Anyone is soil can follow the guide to a tee....

yeah I always go by ppms, i use the schedule to get me about where it needs to be, then I add more based on ppm range.. The schedule calls for a rez change before flowering so if you skipped that step last time it probably caused ur problems... Bushdoctor is a necessity in my opinion as well.

Yeah I meant Grow big not Big bloom lol I get the names mixed up >.< but I always do res changes with 10 gallons of water, I did as the schedule said for the most part, 2 tsp tiger bloom 1 tbls big bloom. I added 5 tsp total of grow big so its at half strength mainly because I fear any more irregularities on my leaves lol I have a small issue about a week ago, sometimes a leaf with some rust spots pop up. I figure ill get some Cal Mag solution for my next grow if I decide to stick with fox farm or try GH lucas formula.

I only go 1/2 strength for the first week of veg, then its full strength all the way to the end... by not feeding to its full potential your just shorting yourself on yield..

Yep, when i started growing I got some help from a member here "Earl" after reading his journals I realized he knew what he was talking about and tried it. I was afraid I would lose some yield but it was like night and day, no more curling or burning, plants stayed green through flower, seemed easier to maintain pH and I pulled about 6 to 8 oz's from a 400w bulb in a 24x48" footprint. I didnt get tight nugs, I thought the nutrient amount was the problem but it was the light. A friend did the same thing with a 1000w and got tighter nugs.

I got 9.5 oz's from this batch of train wreck and purple Kush,

What the fuck lol... how did you build your plants like that lmao.. how long did you veg/flower them.. lol the stems look so dang thick it seems like their 5 months old.

Nope, They vegged for 4 or 5 weeks at half strength nutrients, about 600ppm. I've done it a few times now so I'm good at it. 400W Ceramic metal halide bulb, No bush doctor, Used cal-mag though. I start with r/o and that filters out the calcium and magnesium in the water so I need to add it back. used a screen curved to the shape of my light footprint, I run the light front to back in the cab insted of sideways. Instead of weaving it through the screen I tie it back. The two in the center were purple kush, that why the color change. Link to the grow with details is in my sig, It's the dual cabinet one.
