Switched my light to 12/12 three weeks ago, accidently left ballast on MH....

3 weeks ago I switched my light to 12/12 and to HPS bulb. I forgot to swith the ballast over to HPS! It was still on MH mode with an HPS bulb in it, and it still worked like that. I was wondering why they appeared to still be vegging! No real signs of pre-flowering! Has anyone ever done this and if so were your results the same? I would think that once you put a HPS bulb in and if the ballast hadn't been switched yet that the light wouldn't come on but it still worked. 3 weeks later like a nitt witt I realized I hadn't switched the ballast. So would they still be in vegg stage until the ballast was switched?

No, they would eventually flower but with less yield then you would like.

Toss them over to HPS and see what happens. (not like you can do anything else at this point).

No, they would have started flowering. Flowering is not onset by the type of light used. Plants can flower under a MH lamp, but the plants thrive under the warmer redtone lighting provided by the HPS, hence the decision to swap for flowering.

But would there be a difference in the red tones put out by the bulb since the ballast wasn't switched to hps as well? Thats what I'm actually wondering. Cause they look like they have vegged almost another foot since three weeks ago.
