I'm a dirt farmer at the moment, but researching switching to hydro, looking at recirculation diy project to build and set up after this grow that I have in 2nd week of veg, since I'm OCD as hell I really want to get it right the first time, lol I like the ideal of five gallon buckets but I also see a lot of post on root tangling problems but the upkeep and cost would be great and easier with smaller buckets. What your experience between 5, 8 or 13 gallon systems, also top feed, drain to waste, recirculation systems, in your opinion what's the best, love to see pics of your setup share the knowledge help a brother out.

When I made the switch to hydro I started with 12 site flo n grow system. 4 gallon buckets with 3 galln mesh baskets super easy and forgiving. Hydroton for a medium has a lot less pest problems than soil.

Hempybuckets are always a good start in to hydro.
Drain to waste is better to start with.
Depends all a bit on the op size, for a few plants above is perfect n easy.
