swamp-cooler pump?

has anyone ever tried a cooler water pump in a b/p set-up??? i know they pump water just fine but would it pick up highly oxigenated nutes & would it have enough pressure to distribute to plants??? i have everything to build b/p but pump&nutes have cooler pump layin around before i hook it up & try i figured i would ask around cooler pumps are cheap,reliable &readilly available

If it will pump water, it ought to work.
