I am calling from America to another country. If I call someone who is in another country and they use an american AT&T phone, they have no international service, will their phone ring? Or will it go straight to voicemail? Thanks.

You're sketch.

it will ring and it will cost them a lot of money depending on at&t's rates
This. International roaming is crazy expensive. It also depends what country they are in. If they don't have a "world phone" it may not work at all.

It will NOT ring, different countries use different GSM frequencies. Now if your friend is in an american territory or a cruise ship you may get screwed. Ringing alone will not incur charge

This is exactly what I was thinking before calling AT&T and being told A) I hear ringing and so do they or B) I hear ringing and they don't on their end. Tailspin. I'll just accept it doesn't ring on their end and all I get to hear are ring tones before the inevitable voicemail.

Thanks for everyones help.

I called my wife in South Korea on her AT&T Phone and it started to ring. She is with family visiting her sister. I thought to myself, "Aren't phones supposed to not ring in another country?" I am still confused as to whether that is true or not. I am hearing opinions saying it will ring and I am hearing it will not ring. My first reaction was it will not ring. Especially if the phone is off. The phone rings though. After calling yesterday, I just called right now and her phone goes straight to voicemail. This is really weird to me.

I am completely wrong then about the battery life. I must be retarded. I could looked at the battery life on my own link before hand. Does calling someone's phone drain their battery life?

it will drain battery life. The phone usually kicks the screen on, major battery draw, and it has to use it's radio to communicate with towers. If it's on vibrate that takes more battery then just a ringer or silence.

Makes absolute sense. Thanks for your help and clarification. I learned I am capable of getting the facts I need to lower my own suspiciouns.

Phone only goes up to 10 days on stand by. I called the phone on the 14th day of theoritcal standby 3-4 times. The phone stopped ringing the next day when I called the at the same time as the day before.

The phone had to be turned off manually for this to make sense then. This is not considering the phone being used to take pictures, view text messages, and using the alarm system or to check the time.

i hate when shit gets suspicious, its like when i shart. that shit gets reall suspicious. when shit runs down me legs.
