Over time, I'm pretty sure my speakers have actually decreased in volume??

Is this normal? Are they 'broken in' now? It's not a huge deal but I find I have to turn it up quite a few more notches than normal.

Thanks guys.

Yeah im sure they dont just loose their sound over the years. its either fuked up sounding no sound. i'd say your just getting used to it. when i got my system in my car 15 was loud but now 35 is loud to me. i've had if for a year now.

yeah depending on if the ac or a fan nearby is on or not I'll go anywhere from 18 to 28 on my home theater. like 50 on backroads and 71 down the highway in my subaru..

you're just going deaf. unless it only happens when you watch cable. then it's your cable box. but i just think you're going deaf.

Years ago a job kept me on rather large ships (in the engine rooms) and I can still remember all the old timers giving me shit when I went looking for my "mickey mouse" ears before going in.
To a man they would all say "You don't need those things, your ears will get used to the noise".
Of course they were the same guys that would be shouting (in a normal conversation) on the mess deck too.

Lol, time to buy a few Markaudio fullrange drivers and make your own satelites.

Haaahh?
