Super soil for autos?

Has anyone ever used a super soil in the bottom of the pot for autos? I hear they are sensitive to hot soils but Mephisto lists super soil as an option for growing his genetics...

Sure ...

“ super soil “ can be as simple as FFOF at bottom 1/3 or a charged mix ( ammended) with say some fruit and veg dry Nutes added. Autos don’t really need much to get going. If you play your cards right , you can have a layered mix that will FEED your autos by itself without added Nutes and on water only.

I do this .... Bottom 1/3 FFOF ( with added perlite) , then top fill with either Promix or EB Stone Recipe 420 soil. It will run an auto for weeks on water only. And by the time the week 2 of flower has come ... I either top dress with FFOF ( and water in ) OR use megacrop.

Really that simple.

Mephisto autos are strong autos and can produce well with or without extras.

If you are really looking for a charged mix ..... here is one that is ready to use after mixing .
( no cooking needed )

I was hoping to come up with a water only mix .. I prefer to not have to do anything but water .

II been using "coots mix" I had some tip yellow/burn early veg but they grew right out of it.... Only issue it needs to "cook" a few weeks, grow shop gave me a bag of big roots from soil king ran a few 6ft autos it did great until week 4 of flower needed a blast of mag,

That’s the thing with soils like FFOF ..... it is a bit hot for seedlings but they become acclimated to it after a while.

100% FFOF grows are fine to but always add more perlite. FFOF alone is nute heavy and will feed an auto from start to finish with nothing but ph ( 6.3-6.5 ) watering only.

You would be hard pressed to find another soil as heavily ammended as FFOF.
Most growers fuck up with FFOF because they “ add Nutes “ to an already nute heavy mix.
It needs nothing . Even if it showed some exhaustion....... a simple top dress of more soil then water in for a reboost. Or as TEA ( cheesecloth bag ) aerated in water overnight.

Autos are plant and play. They do not need tons of feed or watering .
They do not need multi bottle Nutes ..... Most will finish under 90 days , so there isn’t much time to
“ experiment “.

Autos at Time need CALMAG ( good to have on hand anyways ) ..... but easily handled by adding to the watering . Simple 1 tsp per gallon. Especially when running led grows. They transpire less so uptake sometimes get a little wonky.

Bigger pot then say 5 to 10 gallon. Vigorous autos will consume everything in a 5 gallon pot. Perfect if it's at the end of the cycle. If not maybe a little liquid seafood or worm compost to finish.

I like my plants running out with fan leaves changing color and falling off.

Ya layer. Layer clump and pockets. I like them to find a pocket of P when it comes time to bloom..

I was going to use 5-7 gallon pots and wanted to put some great leaks water only soil in the bottom of the pot... Maybe mix in a little happy frog fruit and flower dry mix with it... And then just use something like green fields mixed with FFOF for the top half or 2/3rds

Dry Nutes work very well with auto soil grows .... a simple “ scratch in “ on top of soil , once in while will water in the necessary elements / feed.

Dr. Earth 4-4-4 or Gaia Green are examples . She will fade anyways but simple feeding is all that’s needed. You can actually...... feed as “ needed “ up to week 8 , then water only til harvest .
NOT FLUSH ........ Just a regular watering , there will be plenty Nutes still hanging in medium AND what’s been stored in plant. You get a cleaner product by letting plant WIND DOWN and finish without overwhelming feeds.

Hey I have a quick question. I am growing in 75% FFOF and 25% perlite. I am at day 25 and a few weeks away from what people are saying my first feed will be.

I was hoping to stay organic and use Gaia Green top dressing method. I was considering the 4-4-4 and the bloom 2-8-4 50/50 mix at 1tbs per gallon kinda like mr cunuck dose on youtube. I have also seen a lot of organic growers using molasses... any thoughts...

Yeah ... I follow Canuck and his method is very straight forward .... in coco. I liked the top dress which is what I do when running majority of FFOF. Top dress instead of separate Nutes and water in . Especially when running autos , why not let the rich medium do the work all by itself on water only ?
It will keep a plant going for up to week 6 , by then it’s about time to transition and bloom. So then you are on the bloom feed anyways just to “ recharge “ the medium.

The only other Nutes I use is Megacrop ( soil / Hempy ) .....GH MAXIBLOOM ( Hempy )

Dr. Earth has a 4-4-4 dry fertilizer and it works well just like the “ liquid solution “ 3-3-3 in bottle.
3-3-3 liquid has 2% molasses already part of formula which keeps myco happy with a simple sugar.
I don’t add “ sweetners “ or “ flavor supplement “ - ( bud candy , Bembe , flora nectar or whatever).

HAPPY SOIL = HAPPY PLANTS
