Sun question.

Ok, so I have my plants in my yard. I live in pretty secluded property but I do have neighbors in front of me and on the side.

What I want to know is how important is direct sunlight? How much of it is absolutely needed? My plants now get sun at sunrise until about 10am but then the sun gets blocked by a bunch of tree limbs but the sun does still poke through. In the afternoon I move them a little and they get sun from about 5 till sunset.

I'd like to move them inside my shed, which I'm going to be installing a sunroof to. I just don't know if that would be enough sun for them. I'd like to not have to move them around a lot because they are so damn heavy(they are in huge pots) and just for general security.

How much sun is not enough is what I'm asking I guess. Thx.

You are not getting enough sun rihgt now. Ideally you'd like them to get approximately 18hrs of sunlight, but this can fluxuate with indirect sunlight. However it sound as if you are getting about 7 hrs of sunlight, not enough. If i were you i'd get a move on with yoru shed adn get them in while you still have some prime season left.

Thx everyone. Kinda what I thought but wasn't sure. Either way my plants seem to be doing rather well for my first time.
I think I'm going to just trim the branches on the tree. I just need one of those trimmers on a long pole. It's really high up. Thx again.
