Suggestion on watering

Hi guys...
This was the first watering since I transplanted a few days ago (other than watering the day I transplanted)
I noticed 5 of the 7 were pretty dry, enough for just an ever so slight droop in their leaves. They got a good watering until a little leakage into the saucer. Two of the girls soil doesn't pass the "2 knuckle test" and the soil still appears slightly moist below the surface. They look happy so I am not going to water them JUST because their sisters were ready. One is the runt but the other is the same size as the others.

My question...what can I do, if anything, to get them on the same schedule as their 5 sisters? I'd say they are a day behind the rest. Each plant takes just over a half gallon to leak...maybe give the two stragglers just a little less water next time in hopes they dry out equally in the next week or two?

I placed them in the middle of the light to try and dry them a little quicker than the others. I also put the fan a tiny bit closer to the two pots in question.

I believe the answer is: "Just leave the two stragglers alone until they need water, don't force them to drink or you'll create much bigger problems. Keep them near the center and in the fans breeze until they catch up to the others. Be patient and don't over think it"

Am I stoned or did I just answer my own question???:joint::hump:

Yes you are and yes you did. :weed: A good rule of thumb for watering is to allow the soil to dry out between waterings (this does not mean to let your plant dry out). It is best to determine what the pot feels like when dry and not water until then or if the plant starts to show leaf wilt. Not only does this promote vigorous root growth but by NOT keeping the medium constantly moist, you make it difficult for the larvae of pests such as fungus gnats and root aphids to thrive in your soil.

Nice looking indica plants !! What strain are they? The fan will help strengthen the stalks and as far as watering goes I like to use the pick up the pot method. Basically pick it up dry before you water it and then pick it up when its wet and heavier. That way when its light again you know when to water again. When they get bigger you will water a lot more. Just rambling peace brother in growing !!!

You are overthinking this in my opinion. If you have a couple that don't seem to need as much water I'd just give them less water, but still water all my plants the same day.

You said you give 1/2 gal "till they leak". If those are 5 gal pots that is perfect, or at least what I water with, 1/2g per 5g pot. It works out to 10% (water/pot volume) so you can tweak this for different pot sizes, just add 10% of your soil volume as water when you water. Of course there are a lot of variables, if you have a lot of perlite it would take less water.

I like to water by placing each 5g pot in a pot saucer and putting a quart of water in the saucer, which it will suck up through the drain holes. The other quart goes on top of soil as normal. I think they end up perfectly watered this way, and I think it assures there is plenty of water deep in the bottom of the pot where most of your roots are. Anyway a bit of a pain to do, but during the 5 minutes it's soaking from below I can do some inspection, training, trimming and by the time I'm done it has soaked up the water in the saucer and I dump the other quart on top, then go to the next plant.

Anyway you asked for suggestions so there's mine!

Thanks for all the great advice. They are all white widow, 60% Sativa 40% Indica. I will keep it simple and not over think it.
We are on day 25 of veg under 1000w MH.

Grumpy was the first to show her sex and is thriving

Sleepy is the runt and was the last to emerge from the soil, two days after the others

Dude, you're flowering in first 2 pics unless I'm not seeing well today. What's your light schedule?

I grew a WW this spring check out my old grow in sig if you are interested. I definitely plan on growing it gain, nice smoke.

All the plants are on the same day, 25. Been on a strict 18/6 light schedule. I'm as new as new gets and they looked to me like pictures of plants flowering, however...every "flower" I see turns into a new set of 9 finger leaves. They are sprouting on the others but the other plants are a bit more bushy so they are hard to see.
I'm freaking out now...all the seeds were bought together, feminized ww from attitude. I had 1 Northern Light freebie that didn't germinate.

These pictures were just taken. There were some "flower" looking growths this morning that are now green finger leaves. There's definitely female hairs that started two days ago...am I ok???

You can see how the base of the green leafs are still a bit yellow and the fingers are green.

Please tell me it's just a strong girl !!!

Are you sure it's not an autoflower?

Anyway nothing to freak out about, it's doing what it's gonna do I guess with 18 hrs light. That's what mine look like 10-15 days after switching to 12/12 anyway.

The only way it could be autoflower is if the seed bank gave me an autoflower by mistake. I would have no idea by looking. You are right, she's going to do what she's going to do. I will keep an eye on her and see what happens.
