Suction cups falling off in 55 gallon drum reservoir.

All I am looking for advice to keep my suction cup from falling off in my 55 gallon reservoir. It wasn't a big deal when a pump tips over but now that I am using a heater I definitely don't want it falling off and bouncing all over the place.

Is there anything I can do besides silicone?

I'm afraid it will come out of the water and melt something which they can do. If they go above the water line the thermostat doesn't work right and it won't turn off.
