Glacial Rock Dust you mean? Don't worry much about it, it's alright but Basalt does everything GRD does but better.

BuildASoil sells 16lb bags of Basalt for $30, not too bad ultimately.

As the saying goes, sometimes anything is better than nothing. Use Azomite if you have to, whatever is readily available to you and for a good price.

That being said, Basalt is #1. Do a side by side sometime if you don't believe me, the sulfur content in basalt makes it superior to any other type of rock dust. Sulfur = terpenes = flavor

You can easily get away with another mineral input. I have used soft rock phosphate, azomite, and glacial rock dust over the years. The glacial rock dust was the most expensive; I never bought it again. I pictured some dude climbing a mountain in Alaska to source rocks that have been frozen since the ice ages. In reality I overpaid for crushed stone from kelp 4 less. There are many alternatives. The thing is mineral inputs have lasting effects for years as they take so long to decompose. SRP was half the cost; takes like 5 years to break down. You won’t notice much difference between any of these.

I had been eyeballing the basalt mix from here => https://store.rockdustlocal.com/St-George-Black-40-lbs-Basalt-Microfines-32-lbs_p_20.html

Was trying to convince myself to buy a huge ass bag when all I need is a small amount, but I figure if I purchase once I'll have it on hand for years & years & years. My first (and only) full size Azomite bag is now 6-7 years old and barely made a dent in it. Just recently transferred what was left into 2x 3gal buckets and still filled a bit of a third one. But I'm a tiny closet grower...

The hippies compost plants like comfrey, nettle, and borage. There are others to be had and it's basically just deep rooting plants that draw minerals from the earth. I'm using lambsquarter here...
