Substance

I was wondering to myself. "How does Substance in any way translate into: Things that are there, or holdable or whatever." So I broke it apart. Sub-Means below...What?...Stance-Means?...The way you are standing, synonym for posture?...

Under the way you are standing???????????/

Then it hit me. It just means, "The ground", "The shit your standing on"

Crazy right?

It means like "Under your stance", "Under you". Basically it means "Look at the ground" It's a word that tells you what you have to do to find out what it is referring to.

What is strate, or trate? I was just breaking the word down and looking at its root meanings. But thinking about that idk what Substrate means in roots. Under something. We say like nitrate and stuff. Maybe trate is air space or atmosphere.
