I wanna go completely organic with subcools super soil. but what if my PH level in my water is to high? would it be ok to us PH down? IDK because i think it is a chemical and could effect my "all Organic" grow...HELP HELP HELP!
 
which would you prefer for the PH down? my tap water is high in PH...I usally let the water sit for a few days to let the clorine and everything else come out...
 
My water comes out of the tap @ 230ppm and pH 8.0-8.3. Pretty high. I bubble for at least 24 hrs to rid the water of chlorine and then add Gen Hydro pH down to 6.8. Doesn't hurt the micro herd at all, my plants are just finishing up beautifully in super soil and look like they will yield nicely too. pH down is just a weak phosphoric acid solution. It'll do zero damage to your soil. If you bubble your water to get rid of chlorine, don't forget to unplug the air stone after you pH because it will evaporate all the pH down you added and the pH will rise again over a day or so.
 
Hydro store has organic up and down they can order if not in stock. lemons, lime work. u could get an r.o. and thats usually neutral. or you can just used advanced or g.h. dont know if it harms the biology or not but i use em.
 
I too Use AN up and down with no issues..... but honestly, since I started using a Dechlorinator, I rarely change my pH...

The ppm's usually come in less than 50 or so from the tap and not harmful to your soil biology. All the Best!

You just gave him the exact opposite of true and accurate information. Lemon juice, apple cider vinegar, and all acidic liquids will lower your PH. A low PH is "acidic", makes sense. Baking soda, or dolomite lime, is alkaline, and is used to raise PH. You'd be best using lemon juice to lower your PH and baking soda to raise it. The organic AN PH down is just citric acid, and organic AN PH up is sodium bicarbonate, more commonly known as baking soda. Buy whichever is cheaper, just watch using too much baking soda to raise PH, if that is ever an issue, or you could lock out some nutes.
 
Many local waters have switched from chlorine to chloramine which wont dissipate by letting it sit. You will have to filter out those chems and R.O. Is a good way to make that happen. Best of luck on your grow

your water is alkaline, and probably salty. perhaps a Brita filter. if ph drops, it was salt. ferts are salts pretty much, so any other salt tends to add up to a lot of salt. one fella's two cents

earth juice natural ph down (99.9% citric acid)
