Subcool Super Soil Question. Is it to Late to Start? Help

i live in ohio and I grow OUTDOORS....we usally harvest around the first 2 weeks of october...I have a couple of 10 inch clones right now.I was wondering if i start a batch of super soil next week...let it sit for a month...(roughly first week of july) . Would that be enough time for the roots to grow into the soil? I know your suppose to fill the hole up with only 1/2 super soil...1/2 your regular soil ( root organics). My main concern is the timing of the roots reaching the soil in 2 months. Or would it be a good idea to fill the hole up 3/4 with super soil becuase of the short time the plant is going to be in it?

i tried reading this 10 times and cant figure out what you are trying to ask.
sorry for the confusion....what im trying to say... is 2 months enough time for the roots to reach the supper soil it you follow subcools rules of filling the pot up 1/2 with SS and 1/2 with regualar soil...or should i put more SS in the bottom of the pot

i still have no idea what you r talking about. y would it take your roots 2 months to find the super soil? the amount of super soil you put in the pot is dependent on how long the plant will grow for and how heavy of a feeder the plant is. typically a 10 gallon pot filled halfway with supersoil is enough food for a month of veg and all of flower. if the same 10 gallon pot didnt need to feed a plant for three months then less hot would be used cuz less is needed.

You are cutting it way too close. You could always plant first in bagsoil and topdress with SS after it cooks for 6 weeks

u dont need to cook s.s for 6 weeks. sub says to cook for 30 days. and yes it would be a good idea to use potting soil and get your clones out and growing now. be careful clones can still flower if put out now. depending on the strain clones put out now will start flowering without supplemental lighting.

While you can use it as soon as 30 days the longer the better and in my garden we rarely run any SS thats less than 6 months old now the main and really only difference however is consistency.
Once you dial in the mix and make up a good amount in advance each harvest is picture perfect.

Thank you subcool I was pondering this question on your mix for how long can it sit and I like your answer. Just threw a 5 pack of Querkle in soil and gonna be in SS later when I find my keepers Peace.
P.S Ive seen your soil throw heavy amounts of steam out containers, Def. gets hot makes sense to wait longer if can.

I can tell you from personal experience that thorough cooking of supersoil is mandatory. At least a month, I like to get a good six weeks at least, otherwise the transplants get hot feet.

Thanks for you input Sub. With that input, what would you recommend I do with my situation? I will probably have the SS mix done around the first week of july and ready to use. If you had a plant, how would you apply the SS to the pot? would you still stick with a ratio of 1/2 SS,1/2 Regular soil? Or would you Raise the level of SS more to the top of the Pot at a 3/4 SS 1/4 Regualr soil? (Keeping in mind the plants are finished early October) Any input from you would be greatly appreciated.. Thanks for all your help

It will not start flowering now...Im In OHIO

if you know they wont flower now, then put em out. get em started and transplant when your s.s. is ready. last year i transplanted from 7 to 20's ( half filled with s.s.) in late june. and they totally rooted through. there was enough food in the pot, with the exception of one top feed in august, harvested in early oct. if your interested here is a discussion on preventing early spring flowering of clones: https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=56985 good luck!
