We sometimes get welments from china cuz our company was unfortunately bought out by chineese. There shit is garbage, I mean complete waste of fucking time garbage. We always have to fix their bull shit. We only get their junk when we are between assembly lines and need something to do.

If they are any good, they should be able to fashion themselves new steel fingers without much problem. I'd make mine with a built-in lighter and bottle opener, and a little compartment to stash some weed...

You could tell by their hands on what operations those old guys worked when I got hired there...
I remember a guy getting sucked into a coil once...6 laps deep. After we cut him out he was amazingly not injured and wanted to go outside and burn one...so we all went. Mini celebration of survival.

No, more burns and scars from burns from hot ass chips. I look like a heroin addict with all these scars on my hands and arms. Had a chip go straight up my nose once, that really sucked.
Your hands get thick after a while so you don't get to many splinters but it does happen. So far I havent lost any digits but I did almost crush one with a spot welder once.

What kinda tolerances you work too. I did 10 years at an air bearing manufacturer, machining to .0001...sometimes on old worn out Bridgeports..i learned about backlash, play and tightening up ways pretty quick, surface grinding to .00005, cylindrical grinding to .00001. I don't miss it. I laugh when a place says they do high tolerance work...+/- .002....easy! I started out in a prototype shop..loved that job, never the same thing. I miss having access to the equipment for personal jobs.

When I was "working" in plastics we had some tools built in China... OMFG! It looked like they used hammers to finish the work. NO wonder the shit is cheap coming out of there.
