Strip light build

So I built 2 of Grengenes PLC for a 4 x 8 area. I’ve been running the cob 3590 for several years now I wanted to try his strip lights. This is my first run with them. Have any of you ever made a run with your strip lights on half power? The coverage seems so much better with these. I was thinking I could put them right over canopy on 1/2 power. Thoughts on this.

I have a few DIY strip light builds that sometimes run on close to 50% power, like you say just have to have them closer than normal to canopy to keep the same light intensity. A lux or PAR meter helps. And an even canopy lol

Can't go stupid close though as you lose some of the intensity you get from overlapping light coverage.

If you keep your fixture at approx same height, or little less, that you have between the strips then your spread should be even. So if it's the standard 16 strips per 4x4 you should get even spread around 6-8 inches.
After that just dial yourself in with light levels. As a general advice less is more when you start under new light, the extra spread makes the light easier to assimilate. Start at half or even less. Once you light burn them they can be stupid for a lot of time it's best to go easy and let the plants dictate the pace
