a customer is having this issue, i remember reading about it way back when but cant remember the cause

6 citi 1212s on a meanwell 320-1400

Probably due to leakage current through whatever is switching the driver on and 'off'.

It could also be dimming to off not working properly if that is what they are doing on the 320 driver.

I would guess they need to turn the plug around.

AC current has a zero and a phase wire. If the timer is breaking the zero wire then the phase is still hitting the driver. I've seen this flickering effect caused on fluorescent tubes myself.

Make sure the phase wire gets interrupted. Preferably by using relais with double pole switching or otherwise making sure that the plug is in the "correct way". You can test this with those screwdrivers that light up when you stick them in the socket.

he mentioned it stays on for 2 hours?

odd
I bat it tho thin wire in it hating the system up or heating up and noticing it the driver is. I had a problem we're I had one batch a that of 6 of them and the driver could power 7 chips but the 6th chipped was bad so I had to unhook every check power than mom 1 by one and found out one check was bad

Seriously people still do that? OMG, that sounds like asking for trouble.

But then "floating ground" wouldn't happen at all and ground leakage sounds unlikely too then, so they weren't talking about that situation.

Anyway, did the customer try rotating a connector?
