Strawberrys in growbox

Would a strawberry plant grow off cfl's??

i don't know for sure...

but i would be willing to say not unless you have a lot of em.


most veggitables and fruits can grow indoor but need HPS type outputs. you know super high lumens and wattage. or wahtever the rigth light talk is.


but then again. yes they would grow. just no to extremely little/low yeilding berries.

I say try it and let us know. Id love to grow my own strawberries with my growbox!

im very tempted to try it, if i decide to go ahead i'll let people know of th outcomes. Im sure it won't be majorly succesful.

its always fun to give your plant a few friends...

right now i have 4 different cactus, a few marigolds, 2 young dog wood trees and some type of catnip.

plus the added plants help bring up the humidity, alot.



you just want to be careful some plants will bring new bugs into your area and that is bad bad bad. once the bugs are there even if you remove the culprit plant the bugs try to adapt to whats left to get a meal.


i have never personally grown strawberries so i wouldn't have a clue as to what bugs they are susceptible to..


also, something to think about.. once you get the berries greenery growing, when will the start to form fruit in nature? Meaning what light schedule is best for them. some berries start mid summer, other late fall, i think theres a few start early...

I believe strawberries flower when the available light hits 6-8 hours. I could be mistaken. If you google it perhaps you will find an answer.
