Strange growth, weird smell

Around 2 weeks ago both these plants leaves started flipping, It looks like the plant was coming out of it when I raised its Ph to 6.4 but now it smells really strong like chlorophyll and cheese. Any idea what could be causing this?

Pre-flowers? Lost nug in the air vent? You wiped your mustache after breaking up a particularly dank bud and now your mustache smells like weed?

More than likely it'll be your pre-flowers giving you a hint of the smell yet to come.

Not sure about the leaf flipping.

Still in 18/6 for veg, i pulled it out of a tent with a few others started at the same time incase it was a disease but this seems to be strain dependent. they were bag seeds (MAC Breath) so im not sure if they're duds.

And i just shaved the beard off last week sadly hahaha

Pre-flowers can show up during veg. Pre-flowers are just indicators of sexual maturity. Once your pre-flowers show you can flip to flower with minimal stress to the plant. Most will continue to veg for a couple weeks to fill in a scrog or to balance the canopy.

I wait for preflowers before switching to 12/12. Nice to know what you got before flowering.

I get those flipping leaves and whole fans occasionally.
They always resolve. Might be PH, I dunno.
Rub one of the stems. Does it smell good? You’re good.

i can't tell from those pictures really, but it looks like ph fluctuations, and it's hard to say if the discoloration is actually discoloration, or your blurple light shining in through the door...?

They do have heavy purple on the leaf, theres no light bleaching across out of that open tent my bad i had just dragged em outta there to neutral
light so it wasn't all blurple

the stems are also super purple

that could be genetic...but it also could be a major phosphorous deficiency....
i can't tell what medium you're growing in, if its coco, 6.4 is kind of high, if it's soil, 6.4 is kind of low, and you said you just raised it...if it is soil, i'd go up to 6.7 or 6.8 for a couple of waterings, and then drop down to about 6.5-6.6 and stay there
and maybe check your ph meter?

it was soil i put together myself all organic there is around 15% peat moss in the soil no coco, just good dirt, perlite gaia bloom(2-8-4) and a few other things

ph was 6.0 when the leaves started to curl so i brought it up to 6.4, im gonna water with 6.7 the next few days and see how she responds

hello
your plants remind me when i discovered salt bild up in coco
i had some chronic clones finishing full purple, it was weird as the clone wasn't known to show any purple even under low temps
and looked totally different from what i expected, i thougt i got a mislabelled one but not
Then i checked the ec run off, it was up to 6 xD

Could u please detail "a few other tings"? ^^
peat moss pH is very low and may be a part of the pb too

What's actually wrong with your plants is most likely a nutrient lockout and they could die if you don't fix it. It looks like you have nitrogen toxicity which would imply they're either being fed way too much fertilizer, or your ph is off. The ph can be off for a number of reasons. The smell you're describing hints at root rot and/or other issues going on in the rhizoshpere/microbiome. Also, why are you using a bloom fertilizer during veg?

If those were mine, I would immediately turn the lights down, flush those plants hard, test the runoff ppm/ph and let the soil dry out. From there, depending on the runoff, I'd start to adjust the soil back to where it should be. My concern is you said you used "good dirt" in the mix. Do you have any idea what the NPK breakdown of that soil is? It may be worth getting a cheap soil tester on amazon to see what nutrients are naturally present in the soil so that you can complement the NPK instead of possibly overloading one macro while neglecting another.

But yeah dude, there is nothing healthy about your plants right now. You need to take some action. Good luck brother, hope they rebound. Much love.

Why u added peat moss? its pH is far too low for weed

15% peat won't acifify the soil beyond the first watering or two.

Still trying to figure out how to "like" a post on here.. but I like your post lol. This just happened to me recently. Weird purple pheno out of nowhere but it looks amazing so I'm happy about it. We'll see. I've never seen pink trichomes before. Like the chomes are literally pink.

Beatiful colours on this one!
i admit LJ00' MACbreath bagseeds could be auspicious to turn purple but probably not at this stage.

Pre-flowers are just indicators of sexual maturity. Once your pre-flowers show you can flip to flower with minimal stress to the plant.
It's a sign of that the clock is ticking inside the plant. When you give it long vegetation time with 18/6... the circadian clock inside the plant tells it: "It's time for autumn"... so it drifts slowly into flowering. It is more like a 40 year old facing the wall. A sexual mature female cannabis plant is on it's height is mid to late-flowering with masses of flowers to collect pollen for masses of seeds.

You don't need to wait in vegetation for this signs of flowering to show up at the internodes. It they show up, it means you are LATE switching the light.... the plant is already further with it's state, you missed the perfect moment for introducing the flower i my opinion. I switch the light before that happens... and i count the time of "into flowering" after these first signs show up, the first signs of flowering.

In fact you want to avoid this with your mothers for example, veging them on 20/4.... so that any cuttings NOT have signs of pre-flowering, as this might have negative influence on potency after propagation when you finally introduce the flowering with them.

i don't see N tox at all, that dark color isn't the color of N tox, and that twisting definitely is not "claw"
.unless the smell is specifically coming from the pots and not the plants, i don't think it implies root rot at all.
it is quite possible his soil is too hot for that strain, but he said he's using it for other plants, and they aren't having any problems.
the bloom nutes may be to balance what else is in his soil, i would like to see numbers for everything he added

plants flower because a hormone builds up past a tipping point, caused by the decreasing amount of light they are receiving. white pistils appearing on the plant are just an indicator of sexual maturity, not a blaring alarm clock of when to flower. you can grow them out for as long as you want to get them bigger before you flower, and it won't hurt anything

Just Gaia amendments, Worm casting and some composting other then the dirt and perlite
