Strange growth on Aurora Indica

I say its strange cause this is my first grow, and i have never seen this growth before.

I am about 7.5 weeks into flowering on my Auroa Indica, and I have noticed some strange growth. I noticed it about a week ago, and I say strange growth because I have never seen what I am seeing on any buds I have ever smoked. It looks like a tiny banana shaped thing that is about .25" long and is growing directly out of the cola. It looks like it could be a leaf or a new stem or something, but from when I first noticed them, they appear to be the same size. One cola has 2 growing from the top, one cola has one growing from the side, etc. I have done some research, but havn't found any information about what it could be. I tried to take a picture, but was unable to take one that was clear.

Also, I have an ice probe chiller in my res and a couple times, when the water has gone below the probe, some roots were incased in ice around the probe. It appears they roots have darkened, and I tried to remove them a couple of weeks ago, but was unable to. You think I will have problems in the last 1.5 weeks before harvest? The root ball/mass on just these 2 plants take up the entire res. It is crazy. I got two 5 foot tall Christmas trees growing in the basic SH res. The net pots are about to fall through the top, lol.

I have these two plants tied up and down and bent every which way. It is beautiful. I would also like to pick your brain on a new setup I have designed for my second grow. Unfortunately, I have to chop the babies a little earlier than I would like, cause I have to move into a new house. But the next grow will be a permanent setup in my basement behind a false wall. 1 plant per 1 5gal bucket. 3 huge Christmas tree plants total. 1 15gal res with feeder tubes to the 5 gal buckets with overflow drains never allowing more than 3 gal of water in the 5 gal bucket. Overflow drains directly back into the 15gal res. HID setup with tresselling in mind. Putting sink drains with screens at the bottom of all buckets and res for easy, 1 valve draining straight to area drain. Even though I am just now finishing up my first grow, I have designed my new permanent room/setup and am very excited about it. It is designed so only have to check it once a week, and add water/nutes to the res once a week. Even when they are drinking +1 gal per day!! I can't stop thinking about it. Anyway, get back to me if you know anything about my "strange growth" problem.

Roseman-
I got all my growing info from you. I read and re read your posts and printed alot of them off and made my own 3 ring binder. That is until I got the grow bible from Cervantes. Much love.

I would certainly like to trim them off, but my root mass is so big and tangled, i dont know if I am able to trim. Would it hurt anything to leave them for the remaining time till harvest? My pH is still in the sweet zone and I am not getting a real bad oder from the res and no foam or water discoloration (other than what I get from my GH nutes). What do you think? When I tried to remove the roots that had frozen before, I could feel the roots snapping, so i stopped. I think the little fingers were snapping off the root shoot, but I dont know. You think I should put a dose of hydrogen peroxide in with the next res change before I start flushing? Will that effect the buds? This weekend is the last res change, and I am going to be flushing with straight pH'd RO water for the last week. I am using General Hydroponic's nutes. Just the normal stuff. You think I should flush for one week? The chop date is Halloween. I was gonna flush from Sunday to Halloween and keep the lights off the last 24 hours before harvest. Sound good? Suggestions? Thanks.

i didnt read it all but banna shappe little pods usually mean hermie, pick them off with tweezers as you find them, make a few seeds, who cares really not a huge deal unless your medical and are growing strictly for potent pot (not saying pot that make seeds isnt potent, but it is slightly less) good luck dude sorry im not roseman or a bubblehead but i hope this helps :peace: also DO NOT put ice directly on your roots, your killing your plants, its like a frost to them, they may live but this was a bad idea i do not know why people say to do this, unless the ice is properly secured at the bottom of the res and NOT touching roots, you will slowly choke your plants

Try posting pix again. They're prolly "fingers". You get them on top colas and they can grow 1-2". I only get it on indoor grows so I think it's a lighting issue. Not to worry.
