This is my first grow and i got these seeds from a mate but have no clue what type of plant this is

Looks indica to me too.. I also think that you can tell the strain when it buds coz e.g. with "sativa" Swazi skunk bud looks different than Swazi Rooibaard bud, etc.. But hey I'm no pro which means I probably just waisted your time!
