stop eating my leaf!

ive got my plants growing outside and only on 1 plant it looks like a catapilla has had a nice chomp on a few of the big fan leaves.
- can i do anything to stop them eating it ? E.g put salt on the leaves or something to stop them eating. there not going to want to eat something that dont taste nice are they ?

Buy some bug spray made for garnening fruits and veges.

could be grasshoppa?
