this for evryone that has said the cops dont mess with tiny grows ops. and believe me i have read alot of posts saying just that! got this off google so here you go....

Lee J. Konop, of 1022 Falls Park Drive, Apt. 5, is charged with felony counts of marijuana manufacturing and maintaining a drug trafficking place, as well as misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. He could face more than three years in prison, if convicted on all counts.

According to a criminal complaint:

Police served a search warrant at Konop’s house Friday morning, breaking through the door to gain entry. Inside, officer found a closet that had been reduced to one-fourth its original size with a false wall and false ceiling.

Police removed the wall and two shelves in front of it to find a marijuana grow lab behind it. The closet contained an incubator, ventilation, lighting, fertilizer and related grow paraphernalia.

Police found six plants, three mature marijuana plants and three seedlings. They also found a pill bottle with marijuana seeds in it, a marijuana pipe and several firearms.


thats right SIX plants.....they did it just for laughs over beers later on!

He told someone tho right? How did they get a warrant? I got busted last year but I got snitched on.

Yea, but that was probably in a sleepy lil town with cops that had nothing better to do, either that, or a real harsh state.

exactly! They don't have time for that shit where I live with all the crack houses and shit but If someone tells on you then they will come to your door for any sized grow. That is the growers fault tho.

Women love to bring you down, especially if they dont have things their own way, and cant have you.

Beware..

Its better to never show someone your grow, even if they think your growing.

Most of the time cops want solid evidence, such as a visual.

Could not have said it better myself about the woman shit. My wife is the one that answered the door for the police on there knock an talk.
 
sounds like he had a real stealthy hydro grow and he put all of his thought into it. he probably had it set up probably on timers and drip systems so he had to go in to the room as little as possible/ i feel for the guy, because he was probably a real good grower, who grew mostly for himself, who just happened to live in the wrong state.

reading something like this just makes me want to move to California even more

i wonder if he got caught because of IR copters, electric bills, a rat(like you guys said) or because he was a known drug dealer.

the part about " maintaining a drug trafficking place", and my experience with how small town cops work, makes me believe it was either the first of last reason i said was why he was busted. my cops do IR fly bys all the time and because of snitches they know who about 85% of drug dealers are

ill bet dude lived in a decriminalized area, and had less than an ounce(or whatever the local limit was) and thats why a felony possession charge wasnt on the list
 
Makes me really happy to live in an area where the cops have better shit to do. That's not to say they won't come bust a small op if they get the chance, they just have bigger shit to search out and find here, like Meth Labs, and Insane Wacked-Out Meth Heads, with fully automatic weapons on hand.

I live with a woman, so the Knock&Talk bust tactic thing has me nervous still, as women cannot help themselves but to answer the door when someone is knocking.
 
You are all right be very careful. I live in a small town in the mid-west so they made a big deal out of it. They had the swat time and the whole shit. You would have thought they were going to take down the cartel. X girl friend need I say more.
 
i know this thread is old but no one ever addressed how the cops got the warrant. THAT'S the story. the story in the first post is just a bunch of nothing. the bread and butter of the story is how the warrant was obtained, and there's no mention of it. how exactly does a random guy get raided by the police? so yeah, i'm a non believer until someone can tell me what these people are doing to get noticed.
 
Sorry but the kid probably ran his mouth about growing... keep your mouth shut and keep it to yourself and no matter what size you grow you have a *WAY* better chance of never getting caught then if you are stupid and talk about it to everyone or just *one* wrong person.

Just because they are cool to tell now, you never know what people will do in any circumstance. Maybe your buddy wants to grow his own now and take you out of the picture for competition? Maybe your sisters ex-boyfriend that was cool but now your sister pissed him off and dumped him. Who knows.. use common sense people.

That little word takes our anti-hero from a tie-dyed, civilly-disobedient grower of personal hempishness to ... someone unclean enough to would mess with the natural order ordained by GOD. cn

People in my region without medical would be looking at 7 + years for simple* possession even without cultivation. So. "Upwards of 3 years jail" is pretty easy for cultivation, possession, and intent to distribute.. When you look at the big picture.

I have a small grow tent.. The name of the product is, "GrowLab".... Literally written on the tent ;).
 
well, the article does say "drug trafficking"

so, according to that the dude was selling..

but difficult to be sure if the cops are lying or exaggerating or not..

...

There is less chance of smaller growers getting caught..

for obvious reasons..

but anyone that thought smaller growers are Completely safe, was a bit off..

no sell, no tell, no smell.

..even then a freak accident might get ya in trouble..


but

if you have all bases covered, a freak accident of that nature, would be extremely rare.

so it makes me think, even though he hid his grow well, he told someone that should´nt have known.

maybe he had alot of guests over that he did not know well and his carbon filters failed.

or his ex girlfriend fucked him.

or something like that..
