Hello,

My 1 month old chronic plant is having some trouble with its stem. My plant had a weak spot on its stem that is black; the rest of the stem is green except that part which is a weak spot. Today, I came back and I seen that a Floro tube has fallen on my plant and it burnt the tip of a leaf and it smooshed the plant a bit but it will be fine. My main concern is that the stem spot that is weak and cracked/a bit broken is about to come apart. I put some hydro rocks to support the stem spot. I suspect its rot since it's black and only that part of the stem is weak? Will the stem be ok? Will it repair itself? What can I do to ensure that the plant won't die? I put so much time and effort into this grow and I don't want this plant to die. Please help me

do you know how the stem got rotted?
try splinting the stem with pop-sickle sticks (or similar) and tie it up.

I have no idea if it is rot or not. Just that part of the stem is blackish and that happens to be the weak spot so I'm assuming its rot...The plant is alive and still growing so it will be fine I hope.

i think you guys say its dead too quickly. i was told my wilting plant was dead without hope. i cut the stem low at a 45% angle and well, its alive. so worst come to worst just cut right below the black spot. im no expert at cloning but couldnt you just make the top half a clone? im new at this but i think it should work. hope i was some help.:?

Yeah, I think that will work. I'll see if the plant repairs itself in the next couple of days and if it doesn't I'll take clones off it and see what happens. Thanks for the help man

why would you flower a plant with poor stem structure. not to mention if it has fungus bortrytis , which is probly the white growth that your seeing. Should have waited for the plant to regain health before flowering newbie. chop it up and start over...

or spray it with hydrogen peroxide since it kills mold and fungus, I'd rather help a plant than kill a plant:peace:noob

Thats the best help your going to get from ANYBODY. How is the plant supposed to produce buds when its sick? You should have kept the plant in veg. growth until it healed. Let that be a lesson dipshit newbie.

If you use a hydrogen peroxide spray to get rid of the mould and using a scalpel or a razor blade carefully cut the afflicted black area away and then coat it with rooting gel it should pick up just fine.
You may also need to check your humidity and make sure you keep it a little bit drier in the room until it has healed up.:blsmoke:

i know this post is old but i figured anyone who reads this now this info can be useful. Without pics i would say that you have fusarium, if caught early enough use h202 on infected stem, i have heard that this works. I would not clone a plant that has a disease because the disease will pass through to the clone. hope that was of some help to everyone... alos clean room completely with some bleach solution to get rid of any spores that may be lurking around waiting to infect your next grow....PEACE Kaos
