Stealth Speaker Box, Single Plant

so i got bored and decided to post my next grow.. i'm using a gutted speaker box using the speaker grill as a removable door. fans are at the back, 4 120mm fans, 2 intake at the bottom and 2 exhaust near the lights. dimensions are 70h/38w/24d (in cm). i can fit up to 10 30w cfls so max lights are 300w, but i use 8 cause it gets kinda hot in there .



i just potted a feminized nirvana northern lights seed, after soaking it in a paper towel, now waiting for that bad girl to show me some green. i think i'm gonna clone this one since i'm kinda sick of ordering seeds. never grew northern lights before, but it got so much rep so i guess i cant go wrong by keeping this strain around.

anyway, while nothing really grows in my speaker as of now, i'll show you my last grow, it was a Barney's LSD. i lsted it and topped 3 times. i guess i got the sativa pheno, it had long narrow leaves and a general sativa look (for my unexperienced eye atleast) and it took almost 11 weeks to finish (after 6 weeks of veg). I got 29 grams dry out of it, which is very pleasing since i like to aim for an ounce per grow, but the buds are a bit too fluffy to my liking, and the smell is not quite there yet.. it's been in jars for a week now, still havent tasted it (i know, crazy!).

i forgot to mention that i have a pc case grow as well.. it's 45 cm tall, and currently there's a bubblelicious inside starting her 5th week of flower. i already had a few decent grows with this case (bag seed, a couple of easyryders and a red dwarf) it will be used to veg the clones from the upcoming northern lights plant. the LSD was the first grow in the speaker..

Speaker box - Nirvana Northern Lights, Day 3 veg:

nothing really happened in these 3 days.. you know how it is, boring for the first 2 weeks.
currently im running only 4 bulbs for a total of 120w 6500k CFL. i will add more (for a total of ~240w) when the seedling part is over and the plant needs more light (6 30w 6500k and 2 30w 2700k for veg, and 6 2700k and 2 6500k for flower). i will use BioBizz nutes - BioGrow, BioBloom and TopMax, but for the first 2-3 weeks its all natural water.




PC Case - Nirvana Bubblelicious, Week 5 of flower:

the pc case has 4 bulbs of 30w, 120w total, and all are 2700k. i'm using the same nutes as i will use in the speaker box grow.



looks like this little beauty will take 7 weeks or so.. its the middle of week 5 now and the buds already look pretty swollen, and leaves are yellowing. i will check out the trichs tommorow with my pocket microscope. what do you guys think? two weeks left? more?

Love the concept of this stealth grow.

How was the smell during flowering? Did it compromise the secrecy of the grow?

you cant really smell it.. i'm using a few scented candles around the box area, and for a grow this size it seems to be enough.
i was using ona block before but didnt like the smell of it, it felt too artificial. i also tried dryer sheets, it worked great, but the candles are more convenient.

i have decided to switch the two plants and let the bubblelicious finish in the speaker since i can add more lights there.. so the NL is vegging in the pc case for now.

i think im gonna try scoring some plexiglass to put between the lights in the speaker and the plant, in hotter days it gets to 90 in there, i dont like it one bit. maybe ill remove one of the intakes and put it inside for more circulation. any other ideas anyone?

what the hell? is it growing an evil twin? i only planted the 1 seed.. anyone has an idea wtf happened?

Now when you mention it, I think I've stumbled upon this phenomena while reading on growing.
Like you said, it works just as a parasite - stealing stuff (water, nutes, CO2, light...) from the 'original' plant.

Am I right?

i think its going down saturday (end of week 6). most trichs are cloudy, around 10-15% are amber, and 10-15% are still clear. last feeding was 5 days ago.

I wanna help you to take it down. It looks so nice and tasty. It just screams - Smoke me!

yeah these buds are special.. its probably the best smelling plant i've grown so far. too bad its so small.

Based upon your experiences with grows and autos - what kind of amount are you expecting in dry yield from this plant? An oz?

actually this isnt an auto, its a photoperiod fem bubblelicious from nirvana. no way near an oz.. this is a small one. it took ages to veg, i think it suffered heat stress at seedling stage, so i started flowering when it was still kinda small because i'm an impatient idiot. i would be very happy with 15 grams but 10-12 would probably be more realistic. i think i will harvest the top buds first and let the rest go another week or two. after that i might reveg and take clones. it smells too good, i must keep the genetics!
