The train was a huge source of travel last century and prior; the travel portion became less advantageous as kids could afford a car..still alot of commuting from my area of NJ into the city park-n-ride. It always gives me a lift hearing them.

I had a special connection to trains once. I worked on a steel gang, laying ribbon rail.
A single rail of track, weighing 135 lb/yd, that's 1/4 mile long. We took the ol' clickety-
clack, out of the ol' trickety-track.
