Starting seedlings outdoors?

Hi all.

I sense this has been asked before but I haven't found what I'm looking for in searching.

This summer I'm doing an outdoor guerrilla-style grow, but I plan to starts my seedlings at home.

At first I was just going to veg and start the seedlings indoors (I have the basic equip. to veg) but honestly I don't want to get my grow cab set up again.

Does anyone start seeds (after germing of course) outdoors?

I was planning on germing my seeds using the paper towel method, and then after they sprout I plan to put them in small containers in my backyard, let them grow up a month or two and then transfer to my plots.

Any help ?

Sounds like you are on track. I have grown mine in beer cups/solo cups and then transplant. They are easy to transport to the spot.

Good luck with it.

Thanks.

What soil did you use to start your seedlings?

I've been looking for a plain fine potting soil with no fertilizers/nutes. My main soil is organic mixes, but I don't know if that's the right soil to start in.

Plain potting soil with perlite or vermiculite. Ya have to have something for air for the roots. The cups work

Lol, thanks. Revised each time too :bigjoint:

I've been having trouble finding plain potting soil that doesn't have nutes added.... Though the levels in them seem very low. Will it burn my seedlings?

for starting off your babes i HIGHLY suggest fox farms potting soils. its fine if theres a very small percentage of added nutes but be carefull. the only problem with babes for most people is bugs, other people are a huge problem too <-- me :( if you can i would def grow indoors for the first 2-4 weeks of their little lives. after that just stake em into the earth and watch em explode. dont do it too soon into the season or theyll just insta flower but you know that. i think im going to set up a indoor grow room for the first few weeks of my babes life too. good luck to ya.

I don't plan to start any til May or so, though I might start one of the bushy small indicas earlier, so it can veg longer.
