Starting Nutrients... (when?)

hey guys i got a medical grow going dunno when i want or should start my nutrients, using Hydroponix 3 bottle sample, might switch to Botanicare a bit later, but i've had the plants since the 23rd so a week and a half, they are in FF ocean forrest soil, could i feed my chemdawg4 some basic grow/micro nutrients in half doses yet? I gave it some Great White in the beggining and a tiny bit of Atami Rootbastic, i know the Soil's good for sometime, but will the nutes help em grow faster.. its hot as fuck in norcal right now so im watering a bit more (in 5g Smart Pots), rarely every day, usually every other day, but i think thats good they dry out faster, thanks for HELP!!! (i alrdy gave one of my purple diesel plants nutes because it looked weak and dont care much for the plant type) chem4 looking great tho, wait on the nutes?

I would wait untill they were at least a month old to give nutes ffof already has lots of nutes in it to supply it before then and when u do start u should only use 1/4 strength at first and work your way up

dont use nutes for 5/6 weeks in FFOF there fine untill they go into flower then start nutes at 1/3 the strength and build up

Ocean forest has a TON of nitrogen in it. I have easily over fed my plants in that soil. Start really light 1/4 strength every other water and go from there.

I have started mixing ocean forest with happy frog 50/50 and have had good results.

I use FFOF myself, it is mixed with some other items, but each bucket is roughly 50-60% FFOF. I begin feeding light nutes 2.5 weeks in and have no burning or problems. I start with about a 3rd of recommended nutes and every other feeding go up a 3rd. Just my exerperience.

hmm thanks, so you only use nutrients every other feeding? meaning just pure water every other watering? or you only increase the nutes every other feeding, im not sure if i want to do ONLY water every other watering i hear some do that...

If you don't use straight water every other water you risk locking up the soil with salt buildup. If that happens you'll need to flush anyway. I just flushed my plants last night so they'll be ready for their second dose of nutes. It's good practice dude.

With FFOC no need to use nutes more than 2 times a week TOPS...and at least half strength.

I see too many posts here where people think they have to feed all the time. It just causes problems.

You have to flush your soil after each time you feed with nutes.
some might say you don't have to, but everyone that i've talked to told me I need to.

some [MOST] people flush with just PH'd water the watering after you watered with nutes
others flush TWO times after they feed with nutes..

you have to listen to your plants, you start low to ensure that your plants wont burn up, then you go up gradually from there and just pay attention to them.
