Starting My Plants

I am currently sprouting my seeds of Blue Cheese and Great White Shark. I have one simple question. What is the better light to use to begin.

My 400W Medal Halide

or

Strip fluroesent light

or

single CFL's

I think the 400 W light would be to much for starting even though it would be hanging 6 feet above. If CFLs please tell me what Watt. NEED TO KNOW ASAP

Anything at or about 26 watt. 26 watt covers about 4 inches from it, so 8"+2.25"(bulb width of 26w) is around a 10" diameter circle(sphere) of good light.

In my signature (v.v), second post in that thread, I have a chart for bulbs from 26w to 200w(actual). You may find it useful.
