Starting in flowering?

What essentially happens when you start a plant off in flowering from seed? Will it still grow right, just shorter like I want it to?

if you want a shorter plant its better to veg it for a shorter than normal period of time rather than trying to force the plant into 12/12 and flower right away. theres alot of other methods to make the plant shorter. you can use a smaller pot and the plant will be forced to stay short or you can tie the plant over and LST it. just search around and youll find a bunch of info.

as far as i know the ony plants that will respond well to flowering right away are the lowryder types.

Anybody got a second opinion?
