I"m planning on starting my plants in late April under 24 hour Cfls and I want to transplant outside in early June. I'm in New England and in early June our days are 15 + hours...will the cut back in light cause them to bud sooner? Be nice as September can start getting cold and the sun starts getting low in the sky! Any input appreciated!
Sounds like an alrite plan. a couple suggestions, I'm not exactly sure when the last frost is for new england but, you can put your plants in the ground as soon as the last frost has gone. 15 hours plus a day outdoors is fine. The lighting inside though should be closer to 18/6 because when you put them outside theyll be somewhat used to the light cycle instead of the lights being on all the time. Usualy mother natures takes care of most plants and when they bud. it varies on strain to strain but most have enough time to bud in the fall. to be safe is there any other new england growers near you that you know of, if so, what is the strain they are growing, then use that strain to grow. in your case I am guessing some strain with a short flowering period. hope that helps
