Stalks did not come off with ice hash method

i just made some ice hash with bubble bags. stirred it with a paint mixer drill attachment for 15 minutes. after i was finished, i took a look at the trim with my jewlers loop and noticed that i knocked off all the trichome heads but most, if not all of the stalks remained behind. is this normal?
