stalk splitting,

err just to let you guy's know i posted this already under general and it didn't get that many responses, just wondering if it'd do better under this category.

ok so, im a new grower on my 4th plant 3 of which were males and this one female (feminised seed this time) so i was looking at my plant just now and im thinking twice the stork twice the bud right? so my actual question is ... how much stress can you put on a seedling when its young (say 2-3 days into germination)? if you split the end of the shoot and force it to grow 2 ways from seedling, will it die? is it even possible? has anyone ever tried this? and has anyone killed a seedling just by handling or damaging them?

i think most of the time the damage is just going to stunt/kill the seed.

on the other hand, my last germination was a rare exception. i was chipping the seed to speed the process up and accidentally dug too deep slightly damaging the embryo. a couple weeks later and it turns out that one made the other seeds (all from the same bag) look like runts... now i just need to figure out why its dying =(

I think what you want to do is Top or FIM your plant. You can't do this when it's a seedling. Here check this out hope it helps.

you know, it hadnt occurred to me that this may be what he was looking for, i just kinda figured he was going for the frankenstein mj plant with 2 stalks (which of course made me think why not just plant 2 seeds, but didnt bother asking it).

for sure, a topping or a FIM is a more traditional way to achieve what i am assuming (now) you are trying to accomplish (more bud via extra colas).
