Spores came in today. Now time to get this party started.

First off I'd like to recommend sporeworks to everyone. My order got to me in 3 days. Ordered B+, golden teachers, Huautla, and PF Standard. Which one would you recommend starting first? This is my first attempt to growing these hopefully all goes well. I've been reading up on different teks and am thinking about going with the PF tek but am wondering if there's a better tek for noobs. Anyone have any advice on which tek would be best for a guy like me? I was also thinking about the pc tek but have read that the yields aren't as good as PF. Any input would be great! Planning on making a journal of my adventure.

IMO I would start an LC.

As long as it's clean, it makes colonizing so much faster.


But since you area noob I would just stick with the PF tek.

I like that idea! It doesn't seem to hard to do. What kind of "sugar" did you use?

I just used 1 tablespoon of basic store bought honey.

LC's usually last about a year or so depending on the conditions you keep it in.


Edit: You are going to want to test a jar before using it on others to make sure your culture is clean.

I would also suggest in buying some Synthetic filter disc's. They work great and can last for hundreds of uses.

One of those disc can make me 4 filters for my lids.

Golden teachers were nice, I liked them better than B+ cause they colonized faster, but both gave nice trips
