Are empty spore syringes sold in any kind of gardening store? I was just wondering, because I'm trying to avoid the hassle of ordering online.

Also, a quick question about growing. When, (if at all), can you stop worrying about contamination?

After watching the Let's grow mushrooms DVDs, I assumed that you don't have to worry about contams once youve birthed and dunked your cakes. Because the guy in the video was handling the cakes with bare hands, and even dropped one in the sink at one point. I kinda assumed that once you placed the cakes in the terrarium, then you didn't have to worry about contams right? Cause I mean you're putting them in a box full of holes. Air is flowing in and out of the box all the time, and your constantly adding moisture to it.

Just wanted some clarification.

doubt youll be able to find em in stores.

you can stop worry at 100% colonization.

When you say "100% colonization", you mean once the jar is completely white and full of Mycelium right?

You mean just empty syringes? I've seen them in farm supply stores.

Yeah, I meant empty syringes. I'm pretty sure I can locate some spores locally.

A little confused as to your inquiry... if they were empty spore syringes... then they wouldn't have no active spores to inoculate. But I guess you word it wrong! No, its little to known chance that you'll find psilocybe spore syringes at stores. You'll have to place an order online. As said above, when a cake is 100% colonized its very resistant to contaminants.

Empty, yes. Certain pharmacies that dispense pharmacueticals to local drug stores will mostly carry them. I forgot what the phamacy is called, but do a quick google search and you should find something.

If you go through a good spore supplier then there is no hassle unless you live in one of three states.

I live in Texas, so no problem there. But I've never ordered anything quite as "controversial" as a spore syringe. I'm worried that I'll be put under the keen watch of some government organization if I order online. But what do I know? I don't know how well all that is regulated.

Could anybody vouch for ordering online and lessen my fears?

How would I go about locating these vendors?

And I couldn't help but notice you live in LA. So how exactly do you order online? Isn't Cali one of the 3 states?

Well thanks guys. Rep all around.

I'm just starting to prepare for my first mushy grow. Hopefully I can start sometime soon. I'll probably be using the BRF tek method, (lets grow mushrooms DVD).

When I start growing, I'll probably make a grow journal with pics.

What are u going to do with empty syringe? You collecting your own spores? I ordered mine from spores 101 with my personal credit card. Spore are legal, growing is not. Except for those 3 states

Well, I was thinking of just buying an empty syringe and getting some spores from a friend. But I think I'm just gonna order the syringe, (spores and all), online. I was just a little apprehensive about ordering it online. I've never done it before.
