i have a few questions i done everything i was supposed to and my jars are not even colonating i have 1 from 2-16-2010 and i have some that are 3days old and nothing so far. i did the pftek way and etc but with the brown rice flower so please help thanks i have 7 syringes and they are psilocybe cubensis puerto rican strain and some of them clumped up as well. plus rep for the help. i even have a $200 incubator and the temps are set at 80 degrees. they was manufactured 09/08 the syringes. so whats am i doing wrong?

lol either one you got bunk spores....... two you DIDNT SHAKE THE SYRINGE!!!? three your colinazation temps are too low.... you want them arond 82-85... or four maybe your substrate was too wet or to dry

i did it to where it just pooled and it said to have them from 65-85 degrees so i figgured 80 would be fine, but they arent bunk and they have the labels on the syringes as well. i should shake it up more but i cant get the clumps to break really

80 is bare min. i would go. if u colonise at 65 be ready to wait a long ass time to be fully col. and next time shake ur syringe up real good.

so 85 is what i should do then? and i watched vids on youtube and theirs went well at about 70 degrees i dunno but +rep

i herad from a vetern shrooms grower off shroomery that inside the jars are usually two degrese warmer then room temp. so i colonise at 83 so its 85 in the jar, caseing

The temp should not be a problem. I've done BRF/pf-tek many times and have had the colonization temps anywhere from 60-85. I keep it closer to 75-80. The colder it is the slower the colonization as mycelium grows much faster around 85 degrees. But around 75 degrees you should notice something around 5 days to a week. Some earlier but I don't like to look at it that early. I'd be more worried to get up to 85+ degrees as yes chi is right, the inside is a few degrees hotter, and you dont want that to cause problems.
Maybe just no spores got through as they were clumped too much, just shake them like made for a few minutes. Make sure they are well broken up.

How do you KNOW the spores aren't bunk. You never know if it was in too much heat for too long. Suppliers try to keep away from this but it can happen. You keep them outta light? The syringes and the jars you're trying to colonize? Also, did you innoc along the sides of the glass? If not it could be growing in there and just not visible.
