theres a plant thats undergoing the lst process but i noticed 2 days ago it isnt doing very well....the leaves are discolouring and then yesterday i see the stem right at the bottom is starting to split upwards. today its got worse....any ideas??

How old is the plant? It may be worth it to take as many clones off as you can, so you can start a new garden.

its been a slow grower from day 1....

it was under 18/6 for 4 weeks and only grew 2inches... so it was put under natural sunlight for around 3 weeks and it started coming to life...
it was replanted last week at around 5 inches tall and it was noticed the stem around a cm into the soil was bent at a 90degree angle...this prompted the idea of lst
im assuming the bend is the reason for the slow growth, but now its splitting so im rather concerned!
plant is currently around 10 inches

strain is bigbud

Is it feminized?
If it is, you could probably take a cutting from the top of the plant and root it.
Plant the clones, and take good care of these ones!

Well, seeing as it is snapped from the stem, and there is not much you can do to fix it, taking clones would be your most effective option.

Split or broken stems are pretty common for a number of reason in smaller plants, if you have grown for a numbers years it is hard not to encounter this from time to time. Just my two cents from what I have done in the past, I prop the plant up straight to bring the split together as much as possible. Then with sewing thread and some thin padding (first aid gauze for example) wrap the split with the cloth or gauze and gently tie the split together. Usually within a few days the split is healed although you will have a knot at the split and it will tend to be weaker than the rest of the plant she will survive. Keep the pressure off the where the injury occurred with small stakes or some other way to help support it and you should have a viable plant through harvest. I hope that this helps and good luck.

If it is only a split you can purchase a plant tape that works like a Band-Aide for plants and wrap the stem and that will seal in moisture and help the plant to heal. But if the split is caused by a boring bug unless you rid the plant of bugs it will only get worse. Check closely for insects. One thing to look for is what looks like a small amount of sawdust on the soil under the split. If you see tiny bits of what would be dried plant matter below the split you know you have insects even if you cannot find any.

i don't want to sound negative here but i'd ditch it and not bother with a cutting if it's a poor pheno or just not going anywhere i say chuck it if you clone it chances are it'll be exactly the same and still not grow properly after 6weeks in my opinion it should be a large healthy plant with preflowers i veg for 1 month under 600w hps and so far most strains end up about 2ft or so before being flipped, i'm currently growing heavy duty fruity from th seeds a big bud x Afghani and they grow rapidly big and strong with massive leaves. i've had a couple of non starters that just don't grow vigorously like the others and i chuck them i tried keeping 1 and it was like flogging a dead horse after 2 wks it had been overgrown and left in the shade i tried foliar feeding and misting to try to boost it but nothing some just aren't meant to be, start over with a good plant and save yourself the headaches chances are if you do get it to flower it'll take an eternity to finish and the headaches can be avoided
