Spiral Fluorescent Bulbs?

Hi, im a new grower and have two plants that started out in my windowsill in the middle of january. Ive gotten a little more serious with growing them and have moved them into my closet. Being cheap i looked around the house for stuff to use before i spent any money. I found a reflective light fixture from an igunana tank and a spiral fluorescent bulb. I always hear of people using the traditional tube fluorescents and i was wondering if this king of bulb is good for veg. theyve been under it for about 2 weeks now and the stems seem to be getting stronger and theyre sprouting new leaves very few days.

Am i ok with this light for now?

Buy yourself a real light, I reccommend going to Home Depot and shelling out the $80 for their security light, MH or HPS doesn't matter. Wiring it up is simple. You'll see true growth, overnight, with a real light.

Hps and Mh DO MATTER because they give off more lumens more light.... and more light = bigger yeild... and if your going to spend 80 bucks you might aswell get you're self some hps and mh bulbs

for two seedlings you're ok for now. but you will need to consider either getting more CFLs or another brighter light in the future.

Also, get that CFL right up on those little buggers. 1" or less. and a little crossbreeze that will stress the stem and give it some strength.

I suck when it comes to wiring stuff, how do they get wired to an extension cord? And how many plants can you put under one of those security lights. Or better yet how many plants per watts on a hps?

I don't know about the difference between cool white and other white bulbs. I've seen some debate but I lucked out and bought the ones that everyone recommends.
