im looking at getting a variac fan speed controler for my 6inch rvk.i had sms twin control but took it back to shop as the humming noise was to loud when turned down.just wanted to no what amp variac i should get.there come in 1.5 amp/2.2amp/3.5amp/ and a few higher. thanks

15 amp max, which is not a bad thing

thanks for reply do you get humming noise when turned down..most say the variac as no humming when turned down.through the day its fine. not noticeable but i grow in shed and in the middle of the night.when all is quiet i could here humming sound out of the sms controler.

It does hum a little if turned down past 1/2 way

A light dimmer from Lowes will do the job. They are all rheostats and do the same thing.

Hotrod is correct, but if you still want to try another option, I like using this one
Btw, l also have the one budwich uses. The AA is pretty silent though these are just inexpensive options. ATB!
